Maryborough East Primary School was established at its current site in 1887. It is now a campus of the Maryborough Education Centre. It serves a community with a rich history dating from gold rush days. The current enrolment of approximately 200 wonderful children is drawn from the city and surrounding districts. Maryborough itself has a population of about 8500 and is situated 160 kilometres North West of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
The school seeks to provide a safe, friendly and positive environment to enhance the quality of teaching and learning and so encourage students to develop to their full potential. Within this environment students are expected to acquire a positive attitude to education, learn to work co-operatively, have respect for themselves and others, develop self discipline and have pride in themselves, their school, and their community. The School also believes that it has an important role to play in the preparation of its students to be effective members of a wider society.
The school has always had very strong community focus complemented by a positive and supportive learning environment. We are committed to the development of the Maryborough Education Centre, which will combine state of the art facilities with world’s best practice in curriculum delivery, to further enhance the opportunities of all learners in Maryborough and surrounding districts.
